Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee Year
(i.e 60th year of its founding). To mark the occasion, the Institute of Physics (IOP),
Bhubaneswar,
an institution funded by DAE, organised a scientific outreach program on
1st February 2015 (Sunday) at IOP aimed at high school and undergraduate students
(10 students selected by the head of the institution from each of 25 invited schools and colleges ).
We planned a day-long program of scientific activities where young minds got the
opportunity to listen to and interact with eminent scientists. We distributed science kits
and award certificates of participation to all the students participating in the program and
also provided them breakfast and lunch.
