The Institute of Physics (IoP), Bhubaneswar offers the inaugural Integrated M.Sc.–Ph.D. (iPh.D.) programme in Physics designed for motivated students aiming for a career in advanced research. This programme will seamlessly combine Master and Doctoral studies, blending rigorous coursework with hands-on research.

The first two years focus on core, elective, and specialized advances courses alongside research projects. After successfully completing the coursework, project work, and a comprehensive examination, students progress to the full-time Ph.D. research.

Alternatively, students may opt for an exit with M.Sc. degree by undertaking an additional year of research, culminating into an M.Sc. dissertation.

The programme provides fellowship support throughout the M.Sc.–Ph.D. duration, for a maximum period of five years.
