Ph.D. Physics: 2007 from Jadavpur University, West Bengal,
Thesis: Synthesis, Structure, Optical and Interfacial properties of CdSe nanocrystals and effect of DNA binding
Advisor: Prof. S. N. Sahu and Prof. K. Goswami

Postdoc: JSPS Postdoctoral fellowship in the year 2011 to 2013

BACKGROUND AND AIMS

To impact a research carrier in experimental science by utilizing my experimental abilities in areas of Materials Science, Quantum Materials, Nanotechnology/ Nanobio systems and Nano-electronic device.

RESEARCH INTERRSTS/ SPECIALIZATION

(i) Fabrication and characterization of nanostructures/ thin films.

(ii) Nanostructures: synthesis,structure, optical and electrical properties.

(iii) Thin films/ heterostructures of spin-orbit coupled systems.

(iv) Magnetic and magnetotransport studies of heterostructures.

(v) Heterostructure device.

(vi) Surface functionalization and Nanobio hybrid system.

(vii) Nanobio device, Biomolecular recognition, Biosensros.

ACADEMIC AWARDS

2008 - Best poster Award (Certificate and cash prize) from Indian Science Congress Meeting held at Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam.

2010 - Best poster Award (Certificate and cash prize) from XXXVth Annual Conference of Environmental Mutagen Socity of India & International symposium on Mutagens and genetic diversity for health and agriculture at Punjab University, Chandigarh, India during 12-14 March 2010

2011-Foreign Postdoctoral Researcher award from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) under the Govt. of Japan, 2011.

FOREIGN VISITS & COLLABORATIONS


Attended the International conference meeting at Long Beach, Callifornia, USA organised by Vacuum Socity during October 2013.


Presented a talk at Material Research Socity Fall 2012 meeting at Boston, USA during November 2012.


Awarded the JSPS postdoctoral fellowship (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) to work at University of Electro-Communicaions, 1-5-1 Chofugaoka, Chofu, Tokyo 182-8585 from November 2011 to November 2013.

Co-Principal Investigator of the ongoing Indo-Japan (DST-JSPS) project (No. DST/INT/JAP/P-68/09) on " ZnO nanorods for glucose and DNA biosensor applications " under which I have visited to The University of Electrocommuniations, Department of Electronic Engineering, 1-5-1 Chofugaoka, Chofu-Shi, Tokyo 182-8585, JAPAN from 16th January to 31st January 2010 for carrying out research work on the said project

The second visit on the above project to The University of Electrocommuniations, Department of Electronic Engineering, 1-5-1 Chofugaoka, Chofu-Shi, Tokyo 182-8585, JAPAN has been scheduled on February 15, 2011.

Visited Karlsruhe, Germany for training on Grazing Angle X-ray Diffractometer for smooth operation and analysis for 2 weeks during October 2008.
