Professor S P Misra at present Professor of Physics in Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, was born in 1934 at Cuttack. After his Ph.D. in 1960, he has worked in and taught both Mathematics and Physics. As a researcher, he has wide interest in Physics including Supersymmetry and Supergravity, dynamica symmetry breaking, study of vacuum structure in quantum chromodynamics, temperature dependance in field theory as well as phenomenological and theoretical aspects of quark model. He is at present working on application of coherent states in field theory for some dynamical probems such as nuclear matter at finite temperature and quantum chromodynamics. He has been a senior associate member at International Center for Theoretical Physics at Trieste.
