Academic Responsibilities

  • In-charge of the Paper Setting Board for National Standard Examination in Astronomy 2021 (NSEA-2021), to be held by IAPT.
  • Pravasi Bharatiya Academic and Scientific Sampark” (PRABHASS) Nodal Person from IOP, since Feb. 2021.
  • Member of Project Appraisal Committee for Vision Scheme-8 (Basic Research and Science Education) Sub-committee of DAE, since Jan. 2021.
  • Member of FAIR Evaluation Committee for Indian participation in FAIR, Germany, since 2013.
  • Member of Editorial board for Student Journal of Physics (SJP) since 2010, Chief Editor since 2017. SJP is an IAPT (Indian Association of Physics Teachers) journal published from IOP. Since 2017 it has become an International journal with International Editorial board and International Advisory board.
  • Member of the Academic Team for Organizing IPHO-15, International Physics Olympiad, Mumbai, July 2015
  • Member of the Academic Team for Organizing IOAA-16, International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Bhubaneswar, Dec. 2016.
  • Member of the committee for the selection of the Indian Team for the International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA-2017) held in Thailand in Nov.2017 (accompanied the Indian Team as a mentor).
  • Member of faculty selection committees (as External Expert) at IMSc, BITS Pilani (several times), Calcutta University, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Palakkad (several times), IIT Kanpur (for Professor selection), Central University of Tamilnadu, faculty recruitment at IOP, Bhubaneswar selection committee member, and at NISER for screening committee.
